Introducing Equine Match’s 9-Generation Pedigree Knowledge Graph 🐎

At Equine Match, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in pedigree analysis with our latest product development — the 9-Generation Pedigree Knowledge Graph. Unlike traditional pedigree charts, which are limited to just 5 generations on a single page, knowledge graphs mimic the way that the human brain naturally makes connections, offering a more intuitive approach to spotting patterns within pedigrees that might not otherwise be as obvious traditionally.

Powered by two decades of data sourced from acquisitions and partnerships with trusted providers like Arion Pedigrees, the knowledge graph is created by processing the data through advanced graph theory techniques.

The 9-pedigree generation knowledge graph can be filtered by generation – allowing users to view any generation in isolation, or any combination of generations such as generations 3 and 5, or all 9 generations at once, enabling cross-generation pattern identification. Users can also use this tool to spot what may be missing within a pedigree, allowing them to genetically enhance the pedigree.

In the future, users will be able to query the knowledge graphs with our machine learning algorithms, asking questions like “What are the commonalities between multiple pedigree graphs?” or “For a given stallion where are the deficiencies in a pedigree and which stallions would best balance the deficit in key ancestors?”. These insights will help breeders and buyers make more informed choices backed by data-driven analysis.
